Local students are invited to submit their artwork for display in the City of Malibu’s 2019 Student Art Exhibit.
To apply, students can bring their artwork to the Michael Landon Center at Malibu Bluffs Park (24250 Pacific Coast Highway) daily from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. They will also need to complete a Malibu student art exhibit application and the city’s artwork license and release form. The submission period ends next Tuesday, Feb. 5.
The artwork must be matted and framed, with “a firmly fixed backing with a secure hanging mechanism,” weighing under two pounds.
Priority will be given to Malibu students due to limited space, per the city.
An artist reception will be held on Feb. 8, from 5-8 p.m., at City Hall. The event will feature art projects, live poetry readings by Malibu High students and refreshments. The gallery will be on display Feb. 11 – March 8, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
