Happy St. Patrick’s Day. The MalibuGreenMachine has traditionally celebrated with our annual “Wear the Green to ‘Green’ Malibu” community get-together.
This year we’ve decided to lay fallow to regroup and rethink so when the next growing season arrives, our projects will bloom with even more vigor and vitality.
Phase 1-from Cross Creek to Webb Way-of our highway “garden” is finished. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s blooming! out there, and this spring when the ceanothus bursts into bloom, there will be a sea of blue along the highway, instead of a patch of weeds.
However, we’re still seeking donations to reduce our remaining financial obligation of $36,000 for Phase 1 construction. As always, any donation is totally tax-deductible.
Meanwhile, we are donating the Caltrans-approved plans and prepaid permits for Phase 2, Webb Way to Malibu Canyon, and Phase 3, Cross Creek Bridge to Webb Way (a $200,000-plus value), to the city. We hope the city will be able to complete this beautification work we began.
Thanks for supporting the “greening” of Malibu. “Plant a seed and grow with us.”
