I watched the beautiful Jewish Center as it was being built and knew that it would be an architectural work of art. It is just that, and I am looking forward to visiting even though I am not Jewish. There is only one thing about the site that is not pretty, those tall, ugly lights in the parking lot. They throw light so bright that you can read as you drive down PCH. It seems odd that they were even permitted since they are not shielded. Perhaps as a community service to preserve our dark skies, the good people at the synagogue can leave them off except for evenings with events.
