Local Casey Fullman, 19, participated in the Maccabiah Games in Israel last month.

Malibu resident Casey Fullman played for the USA Men’s Open Volleyball Team at the 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel. The 19-year-old spent three weeks in Israel during July, touring, training and competing. The Maccabiah Games are an international athletic competition held every four years, open to athletes of Jewish heritage.

During the games, the USA men’s volleyball team played for the bronze medal in an extremely competitive match against Argentina, barely losing in the fifth match by the score of 14-16. One of the highlights of the Maccabiah Games for Fullman was marching in the Opening Ceremonies at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem with more than 9,500 athletes from 78 countries.

Fullman’s parents, Sandra Kossacoff and Howard Fullman, traveled to Israel to watch the competition and enjoy the Games.

Fullman is a sophomore at the University of Southern California studying business administration.
