Share the road

Ernie Jeniwien, who advocates banning bicycles and trucks on PCH, is misinformed on several points. PCH is a state highway. PCH is not under the jurisdiction of Malibu; it’s under the jurisdiction of the State of California. Bicycles and trucks are lawful users of PCH, and bicyclists’ taxes are used to maintain California roads, whether they drive on them or not.

In addition, Ernie doesn’t seem to realize that every object he owns got shipped on a truck and bicyclists spend plenty of money in Malibu.

At one point Ernie claims that cyclists think they own the road. It appears that he is projecting. Ernie has made it clear that he feels the road belongs to him and him alone.
