Between film-watching and wine-tasting, there’s plenty to do this weekend in Malibu!

Thursday night kicks off the Malibu Film Festival, featuring opening night films “Miss South Pacific: Beauty and the Sea,” and “Kissing Strangers,” at Malibu Cinemas, 3822 Cross Creek Rd., beginning at 7 p.m. The festivities continue with an opening night party at the Malibu Lumberyard, 3939 Cross Creek Rd., beginning at 8 p.m. The film festival continues Saturday. More information can be obtained by visiting www.malibufilmfestival.com.

The City of Malibu hosts a glow-in-the-dark extravaganza Friday night, a “First Friday Teen Event,” featuring dancing, give-a-ways, and glowing food, art and clothing, at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., at 7 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling 310.456.2489.

Wine lovers gather Sunday for St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church’s 5th annual wine tasting festival and casino fundraiser. The festival will feature a variety of local wines, casino-style games, live music and an auction. Proceeds will benefit the church’s outreach ministries, including supporting the education needs of Skid Row homeless children, repairing homes in Native American communities and lending assistance to children whose parents are in prison. The suggested donation per ticket is $50, which includes $100 in casino chips, a souvenir glass for sampling the wines and hors d’oeuvres from Pierre’s Catering. A number of local and California wines will be available for tasting, including Malibu Family Wines, Rusack, San Antonio, Bear Paw, Stony Hill and Chateau Margene, among others.

The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the St. Aidan’s campus across from Paradise Cove on Pacific Coast Highway. For more information or tickets, contact the St. Aidan’s church office at .310.457.7966 or email office@staidanschurch.org.
