Last Thursday, June 6, Malibu hosted its best Homeless Connect Day ever. Between 70 and 75 homeless guests had their needs met by over 50 volunteers and a multitude of providers. There was an atmosphere with an abundance of warmth, caring and festivity.
Some providers donated time from busy schedules. There was an experience of equality with no distinction between volunteers and the homeless.
We are grateful for the support of the City of Malibu and the County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and her district director, Tessa Charnowsky, to the People’s Concern and the many agencies and individuals who gave so generously their skills and services.
Last Thursday, Malibu did itself proud. Come join us for the next connect day!
