On Tuesday night, Shaun White, 31, made international news by becoming the first snowboarder to win three gold medals at the Olympics. The win on the halfpipe also marks the 100th gold medal for Team U.S.A. in the history of the winter games.

His first run on the halfpipe earned him a score of 94.25 while his second run, due to a fall, earned him 55 points. In his third run, White managed to score 97.75 by landing a number of difficult tricks, including “back-to-back 1440s,” according to The New York Times. It was this third run that won him the gold.

White was part of a group of four, with Ben Ferguson, Chase Josey and Jake Pates.

Malibuites might remember the Olympian for his $20 million Point Dume compound—complete with half-pipe—a place he rents out to the those willing to pay a cool $17,500 per month.
