Malibu marathoner Alberto “Barefoot” Perusset celebrates the 18th birthday of his bichon frise Nionio on Sept. 8. “For many years he has run along the beach on County Line and many times at the Malibu High School track,” Perusset said in an email. Nionio is also the mascot of the Malibu Half Marathon that will take place on Nov. 6.
