Rain could hit Malibu for the first time in while, as the National Weather Service is reporting a special weather statement in anticipation of possible thunderstorms and gusty winds to Southern California, with storms beginning in the late afternoon on Friday through Saturday. 

Low temperatures will reach 59 degrees on Halloween with a 90 percent chance of showers throughout the evening. A high of 61 degrees is expected for Saturday with a 20 percent chance of rain and low of 58 degrees.

On Sunday, skies should be clear with light winds up to 10 MPH, a high of 67 degrees and low of 58 degrees.

MHS students will host a community-wide garage sale to benefit the Love Without Boundaries Foundation at Bluffs Park on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 a.m.

Los Angeles County present a course on native friendly and drought-tolerant plants at Malibu’s City Hall at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The 15th Annual Cider at Circle X Ranch will provide trail advice along with apple cider, cookies and candy beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The Malibu Film Society will screen “Gone with the Wind” in honor of its 75th anniversary at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the Malibu Screening Room.

Malibu Garden Club’s monthly meeting featuring a discussion with plant pathologist Jerry Turner is on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
