The Pepperdine University men’s tennis team improved to a 5-0 record on the season after earning a win over the University of Texas Longhorns during the weekend. The Waves earned a decisive 6-1 victory at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center at Pepperdine on Sunday afternoon. The 17th-ranked Longhorns were the highest-ranked opponent the Waves had faced this season.
Pepperdine, the reigning 2012 West Coast Conference champions, were ranked number one in the conference in the preseason. With its undefeated record, the team is ranked seventh in the country.
The Waves travel next to Seattle to compete at the ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championship Feb. 15-18.
