Malibu resident and 2009 Dolphin Award winner Maria Newman recently conducted a performance of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” at Westwood Presbyterian Church.
Newman led the group, which included the Westwood Master Choir and the Westwood Chamber Orchestra, as they played and sang the prophecy of the birth and life of the Messiah.
Newman works as a composer, violinist and pianist, and is the composition chair for the Malibu Friends of Music.
