Malibu resident Amy Alcini represented the United States when competing in the 2011 ITF World Tennis Championships in New Zealand February 21-26. Alcini, who was captain of the U.S. team, took first place in the women’s over 40 event.
The U.S. defended its titles in three out of six competitions. All four ITF Seniors World Cup Championship Cup games were cancelled due to the earthquake in Christchurch, resulting in the U.S. remaining the reigning champions.
