[UPDATE: 2:45 p.m.] All lanes of PCH were reopened at 2:20 p.m., as fire department officials confirm the blaze between Tuna Canyon and Topanga Canyon is 75 percent contained, according to Deputy Difonzo with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.
“The fire’s not progressing at all,” Difonzo said.
Approximately two to three acres burned in the brush fire near the 19400 block of PCH that shut down the highway for over two hours.
Los Angeles County Fire Department reported via twitter that cause investigators are on the way to assess the scene.

[UPDATE: 1:30 p.m.] Officials reported the brush fire burning near Tuna Canyon is almost extinguished, while PCH is still closed in both directions, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.
“It looks like it’s pretty much knocked down,” Deputy Difonzo said. “There’s some little spot fires and they almost have full control of the fire.”
The brush fire was reported around 11:45 a.m. and officials estimate approximately two acres burned near the 19400 block of PCH.
“There are about nine fire stations involved, and then we have our camp crews, which are fire camps which are out in the hills,” Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Chris Reade said. “There are three stations from camp crews, so about 12 LA county stations are involved, between our actual fire stations and our camp crews.”
Approximately six helicopters and 115 firefighters are working to extinguish the flames.

[UPDATE: 12:30 p.m.] Sheriff’s have closed both directions of PCH at Tuna Canyon to battle the now half-acre brush fire.
The fire broke out at 11:45 a.m., according to Deputy Difonzo with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.
“East and westbound lanes are closed on PCH,” Difonzo said. “It’s about half an acre now and the fire has moved a little south toward PCH.”
