There’s another hot spot on the Thousand Oaks – Westlake restaurant scene. Enter Bollywood with its “fresh, healthy and creative Indian cuisine.” It may be named after India’s glitzy film industry, but in this place, food takes the starring role.

They’re passionate about what they create in the kitchen and even their spices are guaranteed to be fresh.

Start out with the traditional savory pastries known as samosa or the onion fritters called pakora.

There are classics like the tandoori platter with juicy baked chicken, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, seekh kabab, fish tikka and shrimp served with a green salad.

If you like it hot, try the lamb vindaloo. The spicy lamb curry has become a favorite among Indian food fans.

The dishes are made to order so you can have it your way whether it’s mild, medium, spicy or super spicy.

There are plenty of veggie choices including sag paneer, a creamy dish of chopped spinach cooked with homemade cheese, and the vegetable korma with its ground spices and fresh herbs.

Of course there’s every kind of naan bread you can imagine-garlic naan, onion naan, keema naan stuffed with minced lamb, peshwari naan with coconut, raisin and almonds. For a twist, there’s even a cheese naan with mozzarella.

You’ll also find a fine selection of Indian beer to wash it all down, including the popular Taj Mahal.

To top it all off, cool down with a refreshing cup of mango ice cream. It’s east meets Westlake and a taste of something new.
