Malibu Presbyterian Church hosted its annual Father-Daughter Valentine Dance, themed “Under the Sea,” on Friday evening. Fathers dressed in formal attire escorted their Valentine’s princesses. This 15-year tradition was attended by close to 500 people. DJ Duane and partner Ashley rocked the stage, encouraging fathers and daughters to sing and dance to the beat of a variety of music.
While Malibu Presbyterian underwent reconstruction, the dance was held in Calabasas for a few years, but on Friday night it returned to the new building.
“It was amazing — kind of like a homecoming. The church has been through years of transition and it was a special feeling to be back on our campus, and to let everyone know our doors are always open,” said Katie Shull, director of the Children and Family Ministry.
