Two residents safely escaped from a fire that ravaged their home on Ramirez Canyon Road in Malibu on Sunday, Oct. 19, according to Cpt. Steven Ralston with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Station 71.
Â
The fire was reported on the 5000 block of Ramirez Canyon Road around 1:52 p.m. and was extinguished “approximately 30 minutes later,” Ralston said.Â
 Â
The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical issues. Once flames were extinguished, firefighters deemed the property a total loss.
Â
Both residents were home when the fire started.
Â
“Nobody was hurt, that’s a good thing,” Ralston said.
