Two residents safely escaped from a fire that ravaged their home on Ramirez Canyon Road in Malibu on Sunday, Oct. 19, according to Cpt. Steven Ralston with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Station 71.
The fire was reported on the 5000 block of Ramirez Canyon Road around 1:52 p.m. and was extinguished “approximately 30 minutes later,” Ralston said.
The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical issues. Once flames were extinguished, firefighters deemed the property a total loss.
Both residents were home when the fire started.
“Nobody was hurt, that’s a good thing,” Ralston said.
