An overturned Honda sedan rests in the intersection of Las Flores Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Highway, as what appears to be fuel leaks from its engine. The driver was taken into the ambulance.

[Update, 5:20 p.m.] The intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Las Flores has been cleared up but traffic remains snarled on westbound PCH.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic on Pacific Coast Highway is being delayed as of 4:55 p.m. Friday after a major accident at the intersection of Las Flores Canyon Road.

A gray Honda sedan traveling east on PCH flipped over and came to rest in the middle of the intersection at approximately 4:20 p.m., after it rear-ended a blue mini-Cooper turning right onto Las Flores, according to the driver of the mini-Cooper. The driver of the Honda, an adult male, was placed in an ambulance with apparent injuries, the severity of which are unknown.

The driver of the mini-Cooper, a female in her late teens, was unharmed. The vehicle’s left rear bumper dangled from the car but was otherwise untouched.
