The following letter was addressed to Jerry Perenchio. I envy you. You have the opportunity to leave a wonderful legacy, not only for those of us who live in Malibu today, but for our grandchildren and their grandchildren, as well as all the folks in Los Angeles who come out to Malibu for recreation and the scenery.
I could understand why you might be disinclined to donate Civic Center land to the community, as you may have heard of intemperate or emotional language directed toward you. Most of us love the beauty that is Malibu and recoil at this type of incivility. If you would donate or become a willing seller of the land you would become a hero or a saint to those of us who love Malibu and dread the prospect of increasing PCH traffic.
I implore you to give consideration to this request.
