The LA Monarchs celebrate their win.

Local Malibu resident Justine Siegal is the president of Baseball For All, a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote girls in the predominantly male sport of baseball rather than softball. Recently, Siegal and her organization hosted the largest all-girls baseball tournament in the country in San Francisco, where over 200 girls came out from all over the U.S. and Canada to play ball.

“There are girls here all the way from eight years old to 16, all ready to dream,” Siegal told CBS during a TV interview.

Zoe Doyle is a Malibu resident on the LA Monarchs, the local area all-girls team. Doyle and her team went on to win the 10U division of the tournament. Zoe’s father, Todd Doyle, added this sentiment about the win: “More importantly, they learned they could do anything, including play baseball!”
