A Malibu man and a friend were robbed at gunpoint in the man’s home in Malibu Wednesday of this week, authorities said today.
The crime occurred about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 22100 block of Pacific Coast Highway, Lt. Andrew Rosso of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said.
According to the initial investigation, a man befriended the suspects at the Hermosa Beach Pier and invited them to visit his friend in Malibu, Rosso said.
The man and two of the suspects went to the door of the home, while the third suspect waited outside in a car, Rosso said. Once inside the house, the two suspects drew handguns and forced the victims to lie on the floor. One suspect pistol-whipped the Malibu resident.
The suspects fled with jewelry, a cell phone, collectible baseball trading cards and some “alleged medical marijuana,” Rosso said.
The two suspects who entered the house were described only as in their early 20s. One wore a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans; the other wore a red USC sweatshirt. The third suspect was described only as a man.
The resident who was robbed is 29, and the robbery victim is 35, Rosso said. The suspects may have fled in a gray Oldsmobile.
