I am writing in regard to the back and forth conversation about the Corral Canyon traffic signal. I’m a 12-year-old living up Corral Canyon and watch my parents make left and right turns out of Corral Canyon daily.
I think about how dangerous it is to make a left turn here, and even though the statistics are that one person dies every year at Corral Canyon, people are still not convinced that they want a light here because it will slow them down by less than a minute.
Also, without a traffic light I am not looking forward to turning 16 and having to make that left turn. So I think that those who do not agree with the Corral Canyon light and those who cannot decide if they want it or not, should think about safety over convenience.
