The Malibu Film Society (MFS)announced screenings of 2015 critically acclaimed films “Suffragette” and “The Martian” in January.
“Suffragette,” starring Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter, will be shown in the screening room at Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue on Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. The film centers around three working class British women in the early 20th century who are involved in the suffragette movement in the UK.
“The Martian,” starring Matt Damon, with be shown on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7 pm. in the screening room, followed by an audience Q&A with screenwriter Drew Goddard. The film, part comedy and part drama, is about an astronaut stranded on the surface of Mars and those who work to attempt his rescue.
Shows are open to the public. Entry is free for MFS members, AMPAS, film industry guilds and their guests. All others may save $5 from the price of entry by pre-ordering at malibufilmsociety.org.
