Graffiti lined the walls of the newest beach access point on famed Billionaire’s Beach last Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Deputies responded to the Carbon Beach West Access Point around 10 a.m. and found the walls of the access way covered in black graffiti.
“I was disgusted when I saw the graffiti,” local Shannon Navarro-Mitchell said.
Navarro-Mitchell had been on her daily morning walk with dog Tyler when she came across the graffiti-lined walls at the access.
Chemical smells still lingered in the walkway in the early morning where trash cans and the sidewalk were also defaced.
Before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the graffiti was removed.
The access point at 22466 Pacific Coast Highway is the newest point opened by the California Coastal Commission in June 2015 for public use, less than one mile from the Carbon Beach East Access.
A neighboring home was also the victim of vandalism, but reportedly chose not to press charges through the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department.
