As election day nears, incumbent Councilwoman Laura Rosenthal is the leading the city council candidate fundraising field with nearly $16,000 in contributions, according to documents released by City Clerk Lisa Pope.
Rosenthal ($15,829) is followed by fellow incumbent Councilman Lou La Monte, who has received $13,995 in contributions. Newcomer June Louks ranks third ($10,581), followed by challengers Hamish Patterson ($3,085) and Andy Lyon ($2,305). Lyon and Patterson are running on a slate platform.Â
Two city council seats are up for grabs in the April 8 election. The first round of campaign finance statements represent fundraising conducted by each of the candidates between Jan. 1 and Feb. 22.
