News broke Wednesday, May 16, that the future of the 36-year-old Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off and Carnival is now uncertain, after Kiwanis Club President Nicholas Ficklin announced the club no longer had a venue to host the annual event.
According to a letter Ficklin posted on the Malibu Kiwanis website, the current owners of the site where the Cook-Off is held—Malibu Bay Company—have promised the site ” to another entity for the weekend of August 31 – September 3, 2018.”
KBU News confirmed that entity is the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.
