Your editorial, “What’s it all about, Alfie?” was just what the doctor ordered! Months ago, in one of your editorials, you worried that Iraq might be like catching a bear by the tail. And that certainly looks more and more like what it has turned out to be. And with all the horrible news coming out of Iraq these days, it is very hard to keep a positive (happy) outlook.
But your five “theories” hit the nail on the head. Having had a cousin who suffered the consequences of a lobotomy, your first theory was right on. The one I particularly thought was appropriate was your “last lesson.” I plan to cut out your editorial and send it to President Bush with the hope that he might also divert some of the proposed funds for landing an astronaut on Mars “to settling our local wars” here at home.
Keep up your positive outlook, which we will certainly need to get through this upcoming national presidential election!
