The Malibu Times wraps up its 70th year with one final history page — focusing on the holiday season in Malibu, 1946.
These excerpts come from the Dec. 20, 1946 edition of The Malibu Times, including the famous “Dear Virginia” letter, originally printed in the New York Sun. It appeared on the front page of The Malibu Times this edition, along with an invitation to Judge Webster’s Christmas party for local kids.
While many things have changed around town in the past 70 years — for instance, the telephone company no longer urges customers to keep calls short — much of what makes Malibu unique has stayed the same.
