All for a good cause, OLM parent Erin Golan offers Bar Nun drinks from the mobile cocktail bar to adults enjoying their pancake breakfasts.

Our Lady of Malibu School eighth grade students hosted a pancake breakfast with all the fixings last weekend, to raise money for their annual trip to the nation’s capital.

OLM students, parishioners, Malibu locals, family and friends joined this community event. The breakfast spread included chocolate chip and classic pancakes with hot maple syrup, sausages, tangerines, grapes, bananas, orange juice and coffee, and for those craving a little decadence, chocolate and caramel sauce and whipped cream were available for toppings.

Adults were tempted at the Bar Nun table — drinks with a kick, spicy Bloody Marys, mimosas and other cocktails made to order. The money raised will go toward the eighth grade students’ annual trip to Washington, DC.

OLM eighth grade teacher Savannah Armour said she was happy with the support shown by everyone.

“This was a really neat opportunity to come together as parents, children and faculty to worship and support our eighth graders.” Armour shared. “This trip is exceptional, and to give these kids an opportunity to go is truly a chance of a lifetime. We are all grateful to everyone who came.”
