Scott Sterling, the 32-year-old son of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, was found dead late Tuesday night in Malibu.
Local sheriff’s were called to Sterling’s apartment at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 22600 area of Pacific Coast Highway where they discovered the body of an unresponsive male, identified as Scott Sterling. Fire and paramedic crews pronounced him dead at the scene.Â
A drug overdose was reported as possible cause of death, according to Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.Â
The investigation into Sterling’s death is pending and an autopsy could be performed as soon as Thursday, Winter said.Â
The Los Angeles Times reported that the 32-year-old had not been seen for several days before his death.Â
Donald Sterling is a prominent Malibuite who has owned the Los Angeles Clippers NBA franchise since 1981.Â
