I found Mayor Andy Stern’s remarks offensive and small-minded. Robert Adler is an honorable person who is anything but “bitter.” As a planning commissioner, he helped save Malibu from Measure M and, as a result, gave the city the opportunity to buy the Chili Cook-Off site for open space. Stern wanted it developed and polluted.
Mayor Stern broke the law and is trying to hide from what he did. Instead of apologizing to the Malibu people, he personally attacked Adler by calling him names and thinking that he wants to run for City Council. (Don’t we wish!) Mr. Stern, it is time to answer for your own performance.
