The Reverend Paul Elder of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church is heading the “Laundry Love” program and needs volunteers. Laundry Love aids the homeless in Malibu by taking loads of their laundry to a laundromat on Malibu Canyon two days a month.
The program needs volunteers who can commit to two and half hours on two Thursdays of each month. This month, loads will be taken Aug. 11 and 25.
“A car leaves at 11:00 a.m.” from the Civic Center, “and returns at 1:30 p.m.,” Carol Moss wrote in an email to The Malibu Times. Moss and Elder are two founders of CART, the Community Assistance Resource Team, serving the needs of Malibu’s homeless.
Laundry Love is seeking volunteer drivers and an additional passenger for the cars.
