The front page of The Malibu Times May 26 issue, carried two adjacent stories, and they show how current events, even for a small town like Malibu, can be so paradoxical.
Story one ran the headline “Malibu Rattlesnake Sightings on the Rise,” reporting that with combination of record rainfall, and now summer temperatures, the area’s only professional rattlesnake wrangler; is very busy.
Story two ran the headline “Outdoor Movie Theater Venue to Open this Summer,” reporting that patrons must bring their own chairs, and blankets to Bluffs Park in the hills above the ocean.
This journalistic juxtaposition should alert some municipal agents to re-consider their venue choice. In the meantime….Would you like some anti-snake venom with that soda and popcorn?
