Malibu native Shawn Stern has released a new science fiction thriller, “Doppleganger,” which he will sign and discuss at two upcoming events.
The book tells the story of Shane Fisher, whose life is upended after he’s mistaken for a thief in a bank robbery, causing him to connect with a mysterious partner and embark on a page-turning quest.
Stern has a degree in philosophy from the University of California Los Angeles. “Doppleganger” is his first novel.
A publication celebration for the book takes place on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Diesel, A Bookstore, at 3 p.m. Stern will also sign copies of the book Sept. 15 at Barnes & Noble in Westlake Village at 2 p.m.
