The Malibu Senior Center is hosting programs in observance of National Fall Prevention Awareness Week on Sept. 21-28. This week, observed yearly on the first week of fall, emphasizes that falls are the leading cause of unintentional injuries among older adults and works to educate the public on fall prevention.

Programs include a prescription drug drop-off program, free blood pressure checks and tai chi workshop. There will be a screening and discussion of “The Falling Monologues,” a series of stories of adults who have fallen, on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.

Free presentations will be given by 1Heart Caregiver Services on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at noon and by Milicia Simpson, MD on Monday, Sept. 28, at noon.
