Singer Pink served as the event’s grand marshal, which was organized to benefit Marine Sgt. James Carey. Carey nearly drowned in a 2009 training exercise and was left paralyzed, blind and with speaking difficulties. The White Heart Organization spearheaded the event and hoped to provide Carey with a wheelchair and rehabilitation funds.
