In an update, Southern California Edison (SCE) reported that the Malibu Canyon Pole Replacement Project had come to an end as of Tuesday, April 3.
Overall, 82 poles were removed while 65 poles were installed on Malibu Canyon Road over the past year or so. SCE warns that “small clean-up items” are being completed but that no lane reductions or traffic control would be necessary.
No injuries were reported throughout the project’s duration.
The replacement project took place on a 3.5-mile length of road, between Harbor Vista Drive and Piuma Road. The pole replacement was ordered following complaints after a pole was found to be the cause of the 2007 fire in the Malibu Civic Center.
