Crime Report

The following incidents were reported between 12/2 – 12/5:

12/2

Grand Theft

More than $2,000 in cash was stolen from a vehicle parked near Surfrider Beach. The victim reportedly left the vehicle’s key fob near the vehicle, went surfing, and returned to find the car ransacked and a money clip, wallet and cell phone missing.

Cash Crime

A male suspect tried to use counterfeit money to purchase tickets to a movie. After the cashier returned to the box office from checking the currency, they noticed the cash register open and approximately $185 stolen.

Stolen Keys

A vehicle was broken into on Malibu Road and the keys to the vehicle were stolen.

Beach Burglary

A surfer hid their vehicle key near a lifeguard tower at Zuma Beach. After surfing, the victim couldn’t find the key, ran back to their vehicle and found a male suspect looking through the vehicle. The suspect noticed the victim, threw the keys back to the victim and said, “I’m sorry” before leaving in another vehicle waiting at the scene.

Christmas Cut

Keep Christ in Christmas’ nativity scene lights were cut between 4-10:45 p.m.

Stolen Shears

A male suspect stole two sets of hair cutting shears from a local store.
