Malibu locals, family, friends and visitors joined the festivities at Malibu Country Mart’s 4th-annual Summer Block Party and Street Fair last weekend. Island music performed by Steel Drum Trio Calypso set the beat for one of the last lazy summer Sundays before children had to return to school. Festival goers enjoyed a variety of activities, including a photo booth, Tarot readings, and artists specializing in henna tattoos, caricatures, face painting, flash tattoos and more. Those with a sweet tooth lined up for complementary cool down refreshments — sno cones from Get Shaved and ice cream from Good Times and Recess trucks. Merchants in the Country Mart offered snacks, refreshments and more, including complementary flower crowns at BedStu. Attendees weaved in and out of stores, listening to music, picnicking and relaxing in the sunshine.
“We love being able to host families and friends to an end-of-summer party, where everyone can enjoy a day of sun and fun!” Country Mart Director of Marketing Elizabeth Maulhardt shared in an email to The Malibu Times.
