Can somebody please inform those intellectuals at Pepperdine University that California is in a severe drought? Can somebody please inform those intellectuals at Pepperdine University that shooting water 20 feet into the warm, early evening air is not an efficient way to water? It is called evaporation. It doesn’t matter where they get their water from: water is water, waste is waste.

While we are told to let our cars get dirty, not to wash down our driveways and to let our lawns go brown, we can drive by and watch those intellectuals waste an enormous amount of water. Of course, to add insult to injury, they won’t even let us sit on their green grass. Come on, Pepperdine, wake up. Smell the water.

Pepperdine may say that they use recycled water for its irrigation. They have a lot of real green grass there to water and by shooting it 20 feet into the air, it has to require an enormous amount of water. If they also claim to be using water conservation fixtures in their bathrooms, how do they manage to reclaim all that water? Shouldn’t they set a better example to all those cars going by than shooting water sky high on an early warm summer evening?
