Ten teams from Los Angeles to Malibu competed for the District 25 championship title, but the ladies from the Minor League Malibu Waves softball team edged out the competition and won the Minors Spring Tournament District 25 Little League championship on April 15. With a rough start to the season, the team fought hard to win seven games in a row and the final championship, with guidance from coaches Chris Rodgers and Raffi Agopian.

Sponsored by Duke’s Restaurant, the ladies dedicated the game and win to Duke’s general manager Josh Morgan, who is currently recovering from an accident. The Waves all agreed with coach Agopian that Morgan “is the main reason why we are a team.”
