The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area has published the first images of P-19 and her two kittens, P-32 (male) and P-34 (female).

One of the kittens (P-33) appears to have died, and is no longer with its mother. The photos were taken in the Nicholas Flat area of Leo Carillo State Park in Late May.

The kittens are about eight months old, and they are P-19 and P-12’s second litter together.

Lions are knows to disperse from their mothers between a year to a year-and-a-half after birth. The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area hope to place a collar on them before they separate from their mother.
