First responders from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department rescued a six-year-old suffering from a medical emergency on Zuma Beach on Tuesday, July 7, reported the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday afternoon, the LASD Air Rescue 5 team landed its Super Puma helicopter at Zuma Beach and responded to the call from the 6700 block of Wandermere Rd.

LASD worked in coordination with Los Angeles County Fire Department as well as Special Enforcement Bureau Medics to provide medical treatment to the six-year-old, who suffered from a seizure.

Los Angeles County Fire Department representatives confirmed the rescue of the child, but did not release information regarding the child’s current condition.

“We received the phone call at 4:46 p.m. and our units were on the scene at 4:53 p.m.” reported Firefighter Specialist Chris Reade of the LAFD.

“The patient went to a local area medical center,” said Reade. At this time, the condition of the patient is not available to the media.
