Sorry, I had the wrong information. The next Malibu City Council meeting is Monday,  Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Please come and speak to the council about a resolution in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux.

Energy Transfer Partners has no permit from Army Corps of Engineers and have been asked by President Obama to halt all construction. This outlaw oil company is recklessly forging ahead, acting with impunity. Some of the brutal tactics they have used against the water protectors include: Heavily armed officers (hiding their identity) with attack dogs, spraying the nonviolent activists with heavy water cannons in 20-degree weather; tear gas, pepper spray, compression grenades (woman hit in the arm is facing amputation); strip searches; and confinement in dog cages. The list of human right violations is growing larger by the day. Is this happening in America?

Norway’s largest bank is conducting its own “objective and fact-based” evaluation of the brutality against the Standing Rock Sioux, and threatening to withdraw its loans and line of credit of $450 million.

Malibu banks, including Bank of America, Chase Bank, Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank ,should also question their involvement. Why are these banks sinking so much money into maximizing oil and gas extraction when climate science is clear? Withdraw your money and let the bank know why.

Can you imagine what it will be like with the new regime coming in?
