Our Lady of Malibu School students OnNi Zacharia (left) and Ry Christiaansen, local winners of the Annual Optimist Oratorical Competition, recently presented their winning speeches at the club and at district levels of the contest, the theme of which is “For Me, Optimism Is….”
Christiaansen was the runner-up in the boys’ division, while Zacharia placed first in the girls’ division. She will advance to compete in Bakersfield this month, representing the Malibu Optimist Club.
