Local nonprofit The Greater Contribution (TGC) hosted its annual event “A Woman’s Worth: A Bright New Future for Women and Girls,” on Sunday, May 6. The nonprofit celebrated its accomplishments with Ugandan food, music and more.
TGC supports women in rural Uganda by providing micro-loans, along with support and education. A documentary film about the nonprofit by filmmaker Jim Carey and his assistant—Malibu High’s own Maria Himelfarb—was screened at the event.
