A 22-year-old man was arrested for growing marijuana at his home in an unincorporated area of Agoura on Oct. 10. Malibu/Lost Hills Station deputies seized 29 plants from the location, worth an estimated $3,000 to $4,000. During a search of the property, deputies also found a handgun that was not registered to the suspect.
Last Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 31200 block of Lobo Canyon Road regarding a “keep the peace” call. According to a statement from the sheriff’s department, the homeowner of the location, a Realtor and an appraiser were going to enter the home, but requested police presence because there had been prior disputes between the homeowner and the residents. When they entered the home, deputies “smelled a strong odor of marijuana” and saw dried marijuana plants inside. After investigating and obtaining a search warrant, the deputies found marijuana plants growing in the rear part of the property and notified the Narcotics Bureau.
The suspect was booked for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and grand theft for the handgun.
