Malibu resident Howard Matlow died May 8 in his home with his loved ones surrounding him.

“Everyone who knew Howard respected him for the high standards of character and integrity he possessed,” his family said in a written statement.

Matlow was the founder and president of Matlow-Kennedy Corporation.

“Howard’s reputation in the commercial and industrial real estate business was exemplary,” his family said. “He mentored many of the young salesmen and women who worked for the company and hoped his mentoring played a role in their future accomplishments. Howard was respectful and respected, loving and loved by everyone who knew him.”

Matlow is survived by his wife, Marlene, and his daughters, Stephanie and Linda. “We will hold his smile, laughter, love and goodness in our hearts forever,” the family states. Services will be at Mt. Sinai Mortuary on May 13 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Heart Association are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
