Why Malibu is famous

The Malibu Pier in the 1940s. In 1944, it was sold for $50,000 to William Huber, who built the twin towers for a bait and tackle shop in the south tower and a caf/ in the north tower. The famed Alice’s restaurant opened in 1972. The pier was heavily damaged by El Nino storms in 1983. Photo by Ernest Marquez
