The Rotary Club of Malibu won four awards for achievements in communications and public relations for 2011-2012 at the Rotary District 5280 Conference in San Diego. The club was given awards for best newsletter, website, use of social media and overall achievement in communications and public relations.
The Malibu Rotary Club is one of 47 Rotary Clubs in the Los Angeles district, and one of the smallest. Each week, the club sends out a newsletter that chronicles its meetings, charity events and guest speakers.
